Totally informed about my plastic surgery process

April 15, 2019

Hmmmm…. Here is a question for you.  Have you made a checklist of all the details you need to take into consideration before your surgery? So that nothing fall into the cracks?

Nowadays, technology makes everything faster and people can easily overlook things more than ever.  That is why we don’t read everything we need to read when essential information is provided to us, which is really necessary to get us prepared to this important step we are about to take.

I am writing this article to you guys to remind you to PLEASE read carefully all the details, instructions and facts to be taken into consideration and followed through in preparation for your surgery.

As example, there are many things you must stop taking before your surgery like certain medications, vitamins and supplements. Also, smokers should stop smoking, if at all possible, at least two weeks before your plastic surgery to help you heal better and faster.  There are many over-the-counter remedies to help stop smoking.

Remember also to fast 8 hours before your surgery.  Nothing to eat or drink after midnight, the night before your surgery.

The list goes on and on, but if we don’t take the time to read carefully the important information provided by our plastic surgeon before surgery,  then we get into those kinds of situations that would make us anxious.

This situation happened to one of my ladies from Salem, Massachusetts. She only skimmed over her instructions, and had breakfast on the day of her scheduled plastic surgery in Costa Rica.  Luckily, she was fortunate enough to have her surgery rescheduled later in the afternoon.  This rarely happens of course, but the information was right there in her pre-surgery instructions.

Sometimes the little things we do make life a little easier … like in this case, a comfortable medical vacation time with no problems.

So remember, take your time and go through every detail you get from your plastic surgeon’s office, and make sure you follow their advice.

If you don’t know where to find clear information about your plastic surgery process, I found these people with good information and relevant tips, as well as experienced plastic surgeons:

For Costa Rica:

Arriva Costa Rica

For Mexico:

Medical Association of Guadalajara

Wish you the best of luck in your medical journey!
