The kind of pillow that goes along with your plastic surgery!

February 4, 2020

Hello everybody! Recently I had a very nice lady from Austin, Texas staying with us for the second time and our conversation inspired me to write this article.  Sometimes it’s the little things that count.   When thinking about having plastic surgery there are so many things to keep track of and sometimes important things are overlooked.

Well, here I am to remind you about how everything counts in terms of post-op recovery. In this case the lady was telling me how happy she was about purchasing her butt pillow for her buttocks implant procedure she was going to have.  This particular pillow helps with reducing the pressure on her butt when she needs to sit.  I am sharing with all of you this website for the pillow:

https://www.bombshellbootypillow.com/ This pillow can be used for both buttocks implants and also the Brazilian buttocks lift (fat transfer to the buttocks).

After our conversation I was reminded about the importance of the pillows for post-op recovery and which ones I know of through experiences shared by my recovering patients/guests.

For those having ear surgery I will strongly recommend to get an airplane neck pillow. That way after the stitches are removed from your ears, you can go back to sleep on the side of your head.

If any of you are going to have a face lift (Rhytidectomy) or nose surgery  (Rhinoplasty), or anything related to the face like chin implants, cheek implants or an eyelid lift, one of my previous patients from Albany, New York had  a face lift with cheek implants and she bought a special pillow for recovery to help her sleep with her head upright during the first few weeks after surgery.   With this, she slept through the night and her neck wasn’t in pain. Here is the website to find it: https://www.cosmedcomfort.com/recovery/

For patients having liposuction, a tummy tuck, breast implants, breast reduction or a thigh lift sleeping with your torso upright is a must, so to combat additional swelling and fluid retention, a support pillow system at gives you additional comfort.  I will leave you with this URL to visit: https://www.avanacomfort.com/kind-support-system.html

Even though it is pricy, the neck and head support makes a big difference with this amazing pillow system and the traditional wedge pillows.

Another amazing pillow for those having liposuction is this one: https://leachco.com/products/snoogle

My last recommendation was from a patient from Chicago, Illinois who had a liposculpture procedure which involves liposuction in several body areas and he said the pillow (above) was a lifesaver because it gives knee support for sleeping on your side and provides the perfect contour for a sore body.

In general, one of the key points for the healing process following surgery, along with the antibiotics, diet and water intake.  is how important it is to have well-rested nights with the proper pillows.

Please keep my recommendations in mind about what pillows to use for your post-op recovery, a comfortable pillow is a great aid to make you feel in good shape physically and emotionally, and in the end, it makes you heal faster.
